Hikes, Bikes & Cruises

Rarely visited villages and beaches that are beyond imagination

Creating a program for Myanmar that includes the highlights and goes off the beaten track seems redundant, only because Myanmar itself is an off the beaten track destination and sees very few visitors on a yearly basis. This is of course due to the ongoing crisis that Myanmar is tangled in. It is a shame that it witholds people from traveling, as Myanmar will prove you wrong on all accounts with breathtaking scenery, a friendly and welcoming population and cultural treasures that rival Angkor.

Traveling to Myanmar is a case to case assessment, and we always ensure that we give you truthful information. But it doesn’t withhold us from creating a program that shows only the most amazing of this lost treasure of a country.

This your starts in Mandalay and makes it way down to the Mergui Archipelago, with many interesting, sometimes off the beaten, stops along the way. Enjoy the surroundings of Manadaly by bicycle and fly down to the Inle Lake for a cycling and boating adventure around the scenic lake. Take the boat down to Samkar and enjoy trekking and visiting local projects. Fly to Keng Tung, and  trek for 3 days through local villages and rural land-scapes. It is time for Bagan and you explore the temples of Bagan in-depth. Of course, you visit the former capital of Yangon and all of its hidden treasures before you unwind on a cruise in the Mergui Archipelago. one of the most untouched beach wonders of the Indochina region!

Length of Tour: 20 days

This tour is very comprehenisve and includs next to the highlights, a high level of adventure activities and a relaxing cruise to end the holidays. If you are still up for an extension after this amazing program, look at neighboring Thailand for a different kind of beach stay.

What does our expert say about this tour?

“We have yet to operate this tour as it was designed, but it promises to be one of those programs that will surprise you in every sense. At one end you will have to physically challenge yourself with the cycling and treks in remote areas, where on the other end of the program you enjoy a week long luxury cruise through one of the most apealing archipelago’s of Southeast Asia. When you add the highlights of Myanmar with Yangon, Bagan, Inle and Mandalay, you cannot really go wrong. On top of that this tour also ventures off the beaten path in all of thee highlight areas, allowing for an incredibly intimate tour. I would say this is a perfect honeymoon program for two people who want to be challenged and rewarded at the same time.”
