The Nature Trail

Starting in Hanoi, you move more northwards towards the Chinese border. The travels are often longer than you are used to, but that is for good reason. You want to see the most stunning waterfalls, valleys and rice terraces?

Then we take it up a notch! You start in one of the most interesting cities of Indochina, Hanoi. A city rich with culture and history. Slowly you move north and see the rice fields of Mu Cang Chai.

Minority villages, exceptional views and a very cool climate are part of the amazing experience. Traveling this part of Vietnam takes time, and that time more than worth it. Of course should Halong Bay be visited, but we do that the Lolei Travel way. Instead, you head for Bai Tu Long and visit the splendor of Ha Long Bay differently and far from the crowds that Ha Long attracts.

Length of Tour: 12 days

This tour only focuses on the far north of Vietnam and is easily connected with other parts in Vietnam. By plane it is just a short flight to Hue or Danang (Hoi An), or Ho Chi Minh City. Northern Vietnam can also be perfectly combined with northern Laos. You just need to budget more time for this combination but it is well worth the efforts as only few people travel this route.

What does our expert say about this tour?

“This superb route offers you the opportunity to explore the most beautiful landscapes of north – eastern Vietnam. It is by far the most beautiful area in Vietnam and my favorite place to travel through. The local people are easy to talk with if you have a local guide with you. If you open up to their way of life, I experienced that you get even more back from a visit than just amazing pictures. I observed their lifestyle and shared experiences and by doing so I managed to live their way of life. For me, as a Vietnamese person, it was very valuable. And I can you imagine what you would bring home after such an experience.”
